A more honest way to find a retreat
RetreatExplorer started from a familiar frustration: searching for a yoga or wellness retreat usually means wading through a dozen browser tabs, inconsistent pricing pages, and listings that don't say what's actually included until you email to ask. We built a single place to compare yoga, meditation, spiritual, health & wellness, mental wellbeing and adventure retreats side by side — with the same filters, the same pricing format and the same booking process, no matter which host or country you're looking at.
We list retreats across eight core destinations — Bali, Rishikesh, the Greek Islands, Costa Rica, Portugal, Thailand, Mexico and Sri Lanka — plus retreats across the United States, spanning everything from a weekend reset to a 30-day or 60-day immersion, along with Yoga Alliance–style teacher training programs from 100 to 500 hours.
How listings get on the site
Hosts apply through our host onboarding process and submit their retreat details — dates, pricing, inclusions, photos and location. Our team reviews every submission before it goes live: we check that the description matches what's actually offered, that pricing is presented clearly, and that the host's contact details are legitimate. We don't accept payment from hosts in exchange for approval or better placement in search results — ranking on the site is based on relevance to what a traveller is searching for, not on who paid the most.
How booking actually works
RetreatExplorer isn't a payment processor. When you find a retreat you like, you send a free enquiry (or ask Sera, our AI assistant, for a shortlist matching what you're after). The host — or our team, for retreats we help coordinate directly — confirms availability and dates with you, and payment is arranged directly with the host. That means no booking fee added on top of the price you see, but it also means you should read a listing's cancellation and payment terms carefully before committing, the same as you would booking directly with any travel provider.
What "verified" means here
We use "verified" to mean a listing has been through our manual review — not that we've physically inspected every retreat centre in person. If you want extra reassurance before booking a longer or more expensive program, it's always reasonable to ask the host directly for recent guest references or photos from a past cohort; most hosts are happy to share these.

Frequently asked questions
How does RetreatExplorer choose which retreats to list?
Every host applies through our onboarding process and every listing is reviewed by our team before it goes live — we check the host's details, the retreat description and the pricing for clarity and consistency before approving a listing. We don't accept paid placement in exchange for approval.
Does RetreatExplorer charge booking fees?
No. Enquiries are always free, and the price you see on a listing is the price the host charges — we don't add a booking fee on top.
How do I actually book a retreat through the site?
Send a free enquiry from the retreat page (or ask Sera, our AI assistant, to point you to options). The host or our team confirms availability and dates directly with you before any payment changes hands.
Can I trust the reviews and information on listings?
We hand-review every listing before publishing and ask hosts to keep pricing and inclusions accurate and up to date. If you ever spot something that looks wrong or outdated on a listing, contact us and we'll follow up with the host directly.
